Training week 9
Objective
w Complete a mainly right handled course
w Teach right turn changing sides behind the jump
w Introduce collapsible Tunnel
w Practice right handed weaves
The small 3 pieces of the long jump were set up close together straddled by
a jump.
All the jumps and the tyre are set to 14"
The A frame was also set at its lowest level.
The weave pole are still staggered but not so wide.
Course
A flowing right handed course design was used this week because we have
noticed that some dogs are weaker on this side. The course was split into 2
sections and further broken down by the touch point equipment. The collapsible
tunnel was trained as a separate exercise.

Recall the tyre to the dog walk and stop on the end touch point.
Walk past jump 3 and call, as jump 3 is completed move to the next jump trying
to keep one jump ahead. Stop on the down of the A frame, leave your dog here
and go to weave, call and guide through then send over jump to toy.
Section

Enter the tunnel and send over jumps 11, 12. Cross behind 12 while the
dog turns right over 13. Finish the line sending to toy.
Section
3
The collapsible tunnel was introduce this week by firstly holding up the
cloth end and sending the dog through. The next step is to gentle lower the
end as the dog goes through. Continue until completed correctly without help.
This piece of equipment was probably the easy to teach. No dogs had any problems.
