The small 3 pieces of the long jump were set up close together straddled by
a jump.
All the jumps and the tyre are set on the lowest position.
The A frame was also set at its lowest level.
The weave pole are still staggered but not so wide.
Course
An Elementary course broken up into two sections formed the basis of
our training this week.
Section 1![]()

The handler were told to guide their dogs over the A frame using
a light hand in the collar. Leave them on the touch point with front paws on
the ground and rear on the equipment walk to the weaves and call, steer
into the poles and complete the rest of the course sending to the toy. Complete
in the opposite direction pausing before the poles to gain control.
Section
2
![]()
Recall over three jumps and send over the fourth keeping the dog on
your right cross behind the jump and give the right turn command twice to turn
onto the dog walk. Stop in the correct position, walk to the tyre call and send
to the toy. Try to keep a steady speed across the dog walk and only give the
wait command on reaching the touch point.
Section
3
Using the experience gained earlier the handlers attempted to complete the
whole course. All dogs were able to do this with only minor problems.
Please remember if you have a problem get your dog back under control and
start again from the obstacle before the one that went wrong. Do not rush speed
will come later.
