The A frame was introduced this week in the same manner as the dog walk
was in week one. The dogs back paws were placed on the equipment and the front
legs on the floor. They were told to wait while the handler walked to the jump
called and moved towards the dog walk to guide the dog on. They complete the
rest of the course using the same techniques as in previous weeks. At the end
of the session each dog was guided over the A frame a few times from each side
with the hand gently in the collar.
Exercise
3
This exercise is quite simple leave the dog at the tyre walk out and recall,
send over the long jump and complete the corner. Gain control and guide the
dog into the weaves. Complete in opposite direction taking extra care at the
tyre. If there are any problems get control and start again from the previous
piece of equipment.
