Course
This weeks course was set up to help the handlers practice crossing
behind their dogs. There are two places that you need to cross after the Tunnel
and after the Long Jump
Position the dog about 2 paces away from the table and place the toy on the
top( make sure they see you put it there ). Use the Table command and call the
dog up show the toy and put the dog in the down immediately. Play with the toy
and praise while still in the down. Leave on the Table and move to the See-saw
call and guide on, use your hand to tip it if necessary, Continue around until
you reach the pipe tunnel. At this point send your dog in and move to the Tunnel
exit, wait until they go past and then cross while sending up the Dog walk (
be patient and don't cut the corner or the dog will get under your feet ). Send
over 10 and 11 and cross behind the long jump while giving the "Right "
command this will help keep the turn tight. Finish the course as in previous
weeks. Please note the Table and the See-saw are taught as separate exercises
even though they are in the course.
