4 Small pieces of the long jump were set up close together straddled by a jump
with the wings turned in.
All the jumps and the tyre are set to 14"
The A frame was also set at its lowest level.
The weave poles are still staggered but almost straight up at the end.
Course
Three exercises were set up this week. One for continuing our right handed
work, one for practicing a box of jumps and the third includes the weaves and
drop tunnel with three jumps set out as a snake. The handlers were split into
3 group and spent 20 minutes on each section.
Exercise 1
A simple Course starting at the jump before the dog walk and
ending on the same jump . This to be completed with the dog on the right.
Exercise
2 
Recall over jump 1 and go straight across the box turn right and across
the box again, turn right and back across the box to the finish
sending to your toy. Make the turn wide to straighten out the angles. Repeat
turning left and left again.
Next we set about training the dog to turn left away from the handler as
they cross behind the jump. Sit the dog on your left in the center of the box,
Send over the jump an command "left" at the same time the toy was
thrown left while the handler came between the two right angled jumps. Praise
and repeat.
when confident they completed the box from the start with the dog on
the left pushing over the second jump turning left and going straight across
the box sending to their toy.
Section
3 
Up until now most handlers have guided their dogs through the weave pole
with a light hand in the collar. This week they let go and just let the dog
weave alone. Most dogs were able to complete at least half the poles (some managed
all) before help was required to guide them to the end. Try not to rush and
guide with your right hand while giving the commands.
The drop tunnel was completed as per last week with no problems.
The snake jumps were next. Recall over the first jump keeping to the right hand
side of the jump keeping the dog on your left turn right and send over the second
jump while moving through the gap, let your dog go past you and command "left"
move across jump two and send over jump three to the toy. Repeat in the opposite
direction.
